Year of the Rat

2020 is the Year of the Rat in the Chinese calendar starting on the western calendar date of 25th January.

Signed and dated handmade original photopolymer print, created by myself from my own artwork.

Past years include: 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, and 2008, so if you know of anyone born in those years this would make a relevant gift (make sure they weren’t born early January in any of those years, though).

In Chinese culture, rats represent working diligently and thriftiness, so people born in a Rat year are thought to be wealthy and prosperous.

Every step in the process of making the photopolymer gravure print, from drawing and designing, to printing, is done by hand by myself and, as such, every print is absolutely unique. This is NOT a reproduction.

This a limited variable edition of only 20 prints (you know, for year 2020!).

You will receive the exact print shown.

The paper size is 8″x10″ and the second photo shows the full sheet in a frame. There is a visible embossing from the print-making process around the actual image of approx. 6″x8″.

Archival ink and thick acid-free Stonehenge Bristol paper used.
