I finished making this Collectible Art Toy/Sculpture of a snail delivering mail early in 2024, but then put it on a shelf in my home and forgot about it. Since that time I deleted all the in-progress videos and photo’s from my phone which was a bit of a downer. Anyway, here it is with plenty of finished photo’s.
It will double as a tealight holder as well, with the candle being placed inside the mail bag holder. This took many days to complete and was created with polymer clay and Milliput epoxy putty. It has my maker’s mark and date made on the bottom.
The base and background panels measure 4 inches square and the background is an image I created myself featuring a mailbox in a fantasy forest. I had a heck of a time trying to get the postage stamps look right and in the end I made several fantasy images which I then reduced to a real miniature size and printed. The envelopes themselves are made with acid-free watercolor paper that I stained with paint and then inked the addresses in.
It is a one of a kind item and I will not be making another.
